Reports and decisions

How players report, what your team sees, and how bans, temp bans, acquittals, priors and notes work.

Reporting in Discord

Players use /report or the Report a player button of the report panel. A form opens with the Roblox player (name or ID), a category, a description and up to 10 videos or images. Before sending, the reporter agrees that their report is shared with your team.

Discord accepts files up to 20 MB in bots by default. Bigger videos still work: they open in the dashboard viewer with one click.

Reporting on the web

Your portal at modhelm.com/g/your-server/report (or your own domain) offers the same form in the browser. Players log in with Discord, so your team can ask questions later. The upload size depends on your plan, for example 50 MB per file on Free.

What your team sees

Every report becomes a card in your reports channel:

  • report number, game and status color (open yellow, banned red, acquitted green)
  • the Roblox player with picture, display name, username, ID and account age
  • the evidence, playable right in Discord
  • category, description and answers to your own questions
  • who reported it, as a mention for questions
  • the number of priors and notes, plus the last five priors
  • buttons for Ban, Acquit, Note and a link to the dashboard

Ban, temp ban or acquit

Ban opens a short form:

  • Type: permanent or temporary
  • Duration for temporary bans, for example 12h, 7d, 2w or 3mo
  • Reason for the player, up to 400 characters. Roblox shows it to the player and filters it. It must not contain links, usernames or Discord invites
  • Internal note, up to 1000 characters, only for your team
  • Alt accounts: on by default, Roblox also bans accounts it suspects belong to the same person
  • Game: one game or all games of your server

Modhelm applies the ban through Roblox Open Cloud and updates the card. Acquit closes the report without a ban, with an optional reason.

Roblox allows only two ban changes per player per minute. When you change a decision quickly, Modhelm waits a moment before it applies the new one.

Priors and notes

Every player has a page in the dashboard with all reports, bans, warnings, unban requests and notes on your server. Priors appear in every new report card. Notes can be pinned so the whole team sees them first. Search players by ID, current or old username or display name.

Messages to reporters and players

  • The reporter gets a short direct message when the report is handled: action taken or no action. Details of the ban stay private.
  • A banned player who verified with Modhelm gets the reason, the duration and when an unban request is possible.

You can switch both messages off in Settings → Reports. Players who block direct messages simply get none.

Changing a decision

Made a mistake? Open the report in the dashboard and choose a new decision. If you replace a ban, Modhelm lifts the old ban first. The history keeps both decisions with who and when.
