Priors and notes
See every earlier punishment of a player at a glance, keep internal notes and search players by name, ID or earlier usernames.

Good decisions need context. Modhelm keeps a history per Roblox player and per server: every ban, temp ban and warning, every report, every unban request and the notes your team wrote. This page explains where that history shows up and how to work with it.
What counts as a prior
A prior is any earlier punishment of this player on this server: permanent bans, temporary bans and warnings, including ones that were lifted or expired, and bans imported from Roblox. Priors are never shared between servers. If the same player is banned on another server that uses Modhelm, your team does not see it, unless you took the ban over with a cross-game ban.
Acquitted reports are not priors, but they are listed on the player page while they exist.
Where priors appear
- Report card and unban request card in Discord: the number of priors, how many are active, the last five with type, duration, reason, date and report number, and the number of notes.
- Report page in the dashboard: the same list with a link to the full history.
- Player page: everything, including acquitted reports, unban requests and notes.
- /lookup: a private summary in Discord.
The player page
Open Players in the dashboard and search, or click a player name anywhere. The page shows:
- the profile header with picture, display name, username, user ID, account age and earlier usernames,
- the active punishment, if any, with Unban,
- all reports with their status and evidence,
- all punishments with who issued them, the reason and whether they were lifted,
- all unban requests,
- notes,
- Ban for a direct ban or warning, and Delete player data for erasure requests.
Profile data comes from the public Roblox profile and is cached for six hours. Pictures are saved with the report because Roblox image links expire.
Search players
The search under Players finds players by user ID, current username, earlier usernames and display name. It only searches players who have at least one report, punishment or note on this server. For anyone else, use /lookup or the report form, which look the player up on Roblox.
/lookup roblox:BuildermanThe command replies privately with the profile, the active punishment, priors, open reports and the latest notes, plus buttons for Ban, Unban, Note and Open in dashboard.
Notes
Notes are free text that only your team sees. Use them for things that are not a punishment: a warning given in chat, a suspicion, a contact with the player, a reminder for the next moderator.
- Add a note:
/note roblox:<name> text:<text>in Discord, the Note button under a report card or in/lookup, or the note box on the player page. - Edit and pin: on the player page. Pinned notes stay at the top.
- Delete: on the player page.
Notes can hold up to 2000 characters. Every change is written to the audit log with the author.
Imported bans
If you click Import bans under Games, bans made in the Creator Hub or by scripts are added to the history with the reason "Ban from the game". They count as priors and show "Roblox" as the moderator.
Retention
Priors do not stay forever:
- Reports without a punishment are deleted 180 days after the decision.
- Reports with a punishment, the punishment itself and related unban requests are kept until one year after the punishment ended. Permanent bans therefore stay as long as they are active.
- Notes are deleted together with the player's other data when an erasure request is processed, or when the server deletes all its data.
The retention rules are explained in Privacy for server operators.
Audit log
Under Audit the dashboard lists who did what: decisions, unbans, note changes, setting changes, key checks and erasures. Entries made by the moderation service are marked as such. The audit log is kept for 14 days on Free, 90 days on Pro and 365 days on White Label.
