Custom domain

Put your portal and verification on your own domain, for example appeals.yourgame.com. DNS records step by step.

Before you start

Custom domains are part of White Label. Your portal shows your own legal pages, so enter the links to your imprint and privacy policy in Settings → Portal first. Without them the domain cannot be activated.

Use a subdomain like appeals.yourgame.com or mod.yourgame.com.

1. Enter the domain

In White label → Domain enter your domain. The dashboard shows a verification token for the TXT record.

2. Set the DNS records

At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record pointing to custom.modhelm.com and a TXT record with the token:

DNS
; Replace appeals.yourgame.com with your own subdomain
appeals.yourgame.com. CNAME custom.modhelm.com.
_modhelm.appeals.yourgame.com. TXT "<verification token from the dashboard>"

If your provider cannot set a CNAME on this name, set A records to the IP addresses of custom.modhelm.com instead.

Using Cloudflare? Set the record to DNS only (grey cloud) so the certificate can be issued.

3. Check and go live

Click Check in the dashboard. DNS changes can take a few minutes, sometimes up to a few hours. As soon as both records are found, the domain is active and a TLS certificate is created automatically on the first visit.

On your domain, players find the start page of your portal, /report, /appeal, /verify and /privacy. The short links /tos and /imprint point to your own pages. Modhelm is not mentioned anywhere.
