We want everyone to be able to use Modhelm, including with a screen reader, with the keyboard only, with enlarged text or with reduced motion. This page explains how far we are and where there are still gaps.

What this statement covers
This statement covers modhelm.com with the home page, pricing and documentation, the dashboard, the games' portals, the app at m.modhelm.com and the status page. It does not cover content in Discord, for which Discord is responsible, or content uploaded by users.
Our standard
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA and the European standard EN 301 549.
Current status
Modhelm is partially accessible. We test our pages ourselves, with the keyboard, with screen readers on a sample basis, with contrast measurements and at widths of 390, 768, 1024 and 1440 pixels. An audit by an independent body is still outstanding.
What we do
- clear headings, landmarks and a language attribute on every page
- full keyboard operation and a visible focus
- contrast at least at WCAG AA level, and status always shown with an icon and text instead of colour alone
- forms with labels and understandable error messages right at the field
- text that can be enlarged to 200 percent, and layouts for phones and computers
- swipe gestures in moderation always have buttons and keyboard shortcuts as an alternative
- if reduced motion is set in the operating system, we leave out animations
- alternative texts for images with content
Known limitations
- Videos and images uploaded by reporters have no captions and no audio description. We cannot create them on behalf of users.
- We describe screenshots in the documentation in the text, but not every detail.
- Legal texts are only available in German and English, and the support Discord only in English.
- For security reasons the app locks after 15 minutes without use. You can unlock it again right away without losing what you entered.
Report a barrier
Have you noticed a barrier, or do you need content in another format? Write to us at info@modhelm.com or through the contact page. We answer within two weeks and fix reported barriers as quickly as possible.
Legal framework
Under its § 3(3), the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) does not apply to micro-enterprises that provide services. We still follow its requirements, because children and young people use our portal too and because good usability helps everyone.
