Localization Reviewer (native speakers)

Modhelm speaks 60 languages: the Discord bot, the dashboard, the player portal, direct messages, emails and docs. English is the source, German is maintained alongside it. For every other language we want a native speaker who reviews the texts before they go live, so that a banned player in Jakarta or a moderator in Warsaw reads something that sounds natural, not translated.

Localization Reviewer (native speakers)

Your tasks

  • Review translations in your native language against the English source: meaning, tone, consistency and grammar.
  • Keep it simple and human: short sentences, the words players and moderators actually use, no bureaucratic phrasing.
  • Keep the terms consistent: report, ban, temporary ban, acquittal, unban request, verification. We give you the glossary.
  • Keep placeholders like {name} and {game} intact and check plural forms.
  • Check texts where length matters, for example button labels, Discord command descriptions of at most 100 characters and modal titles of at most 45 characters.
  • Point out ambiguities or mistakes in the English source when you find them.

Your profile

  • You are a native speaker of one of the languages listed on this page and read English fluently.
  • You have translated or reviewed texts before, ideally for software, games or communities.
  • You know how Roblox and Discord are used in your language: which words players really use for banning, exploiting and reporting.
  • You work precisely and keep agreed deadlines.
  • You are at least 18 years old.

Languages we are looking for: French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Albanian, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Uzbek, Swahili, Afrikaans, Catalan, Galician and Maltese.

What we offer

  • Remote and freelance, project based: a review round whenever texts change, with a clear scope and a deadline you agree to in advance.
  • Paid per review round, based on the word count. We tell you the rate before the first round.
  • A glossary, the English source with context notes and screenshots of where each text appears.
  • Your name on the list of reviewers for your language, if you want it there.
  • Your work reaches every server and every player who uses Modhelm in your language.

How to apply

Use the application form on this page. Log in with Discord, state your native language and other languages, describe your translation or review experience, add links to work you can show, and attach your CV as a PDF. For the cover letter, translate this sentence into your language and tell us in one line why you chose those words: "Your unban request was declined. You can send a new one from 12 March."

We only accept applications through this form, not by Discord message or email. We keep your application data for six months after the process ends and then delete it.
