Full-stack Developer (TypeScript)

Modhelm is a Discord bot with a web dashboard and a player portal for Roblox game moderation. Reports arrive with video, decisions take one click, bans go live through Roblox Open Cloud, and unban requests follow fixed waiting times. The whole product is TypeScript: a discord.js bot, a Next.js app and a shared core on Postgres. We are looking for a developer who builds features end to end and cares about the details that make a tool feel finished.

EngineeringFreelanceRemoteEnglish

Full-stack Developer (TypeScript)

Your tasks

  • Build features across bot, dashboard and portal, for example the review mode for open reports, the mobile web app, the status page or the docs area.
  • Work with the Roblox Open Cloud API (user restrictions, MemoryStore queues) and the Discord API (Components V2 messages, modals with file upload, OAuth, premium apps).
  • Model data with Drizzle and Postgres, write migrations, keep every query scoped to the right server.
  • Write tests with vitest, keep TypeScript strict and the build green.
  • Treat security and privacy as part of the job: encrypted keys and tokens, no secrets in logs, GDPR deletion routines, consent records.
  • Review code from the team and document what you build in a few clear sentences.

Your profile

  • Several years with TypeScript and Node, solid experience with Next.js (App Router) and React, and with Postgres.
  • You have shipped software that real people use, and you have built a Discord bot with discord.js or a comparable library.
  • Experience with Roblox Open Cloud or Roblox development is a plus, as is Docker, Stripe or i18n in larger apps.
  • You care about details: translated error states, loading states, keyboard access, performance budgets.
  • You write readable code with tests and prefer small, well named modules over clever ones.
  • You communicate clearly in English, mostly in writing, and you can invoice as a freelancer. German is a plus.
  • You are at least 18 years old.

What we offer

  • Remote and freelance, 20 to 30 hours per week, initially for three months with the option to extend.
  • An hourly or daily rate agreed in the first conversation.
  • A codebase with a written specification, a design guide and tests, so you know what good looks like before you start.
  • Short paths: product decisions are made quickly and you talk directly with the people who make them.
  • Your work goes live for every server that uses Modhelm, and you see it used in Discord every day.

How to apply

Use the application form on this page. Log in with Discord, add links to code you can show (a repository, a bot, a live project), describe your experience with Next.js, discord.js and Postgres, and attach your CV as a PDF. In the cover letter, tell us about one bug you were proud to find, in a few sentences.

We only accept applications through this form, not by Discord message or email. We keep your application data for six months after the process ends and then delete it.
